The brief

Layout example for a city facade where soiling, eroded stone and failed cement pointing had reached the point of active decay.

Challenges

Example content: hard cement pointing trapping moisture, delaminating stone faces and earlier repairs that had accelerated damage rather than arrested it.

Approach

Example content: elevation surveyed stone by stone, cement removed by hand, failed stones indented in matched sandstone and the whole elevation repointed in lime.

Outcome

Factual outcome to be confirmed with the owner before publication.
